This workshop has been designed especially for BaB Courses. These introductory sessions include mindfulness and stress management skills to help both you and your child to work together to manage stress.
This session is not about going too deep, but to offer practical and easy to remember exercises and knowledge that can stand alone or lead you into the full course. You will take home techniques both you and your child will be able to use together or when apart.
A fully comprehensive course will be available in the Autumn term, but it is recommended that you and your child participate in this introductory session before committing to the full course.
Why choose Mindfulness?
Our children get stressed. That’s a fact. According to the Mental Health Foundation, nearly one in 10 children and young people aged five to 16 are affected by a mental health problem. Many more are simply stressed out.
The emotional well-being of our children is just as important as their physical health. What if you could help them learn new skills to manage their stress better, to focus and become calmer in the face of what life throws at us? Maybe you could benefit, too? This course will help to open the dialogue and start you thinking about managing stress as a family.
Our tutor M. Jolly
M is a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and is currently working in schools with young people offering 1:1 counselling and mindfulness group work. M has an integrative practice, which draws from a range of modalities to provide clients with an individual approach to the therapeutic relationship.
M has recently added accreditation by the Mindfulness in Schools Project to her list of qualifications, bringing mindfulness to schools using tried and tested methodology. M is also a tutor and trainer for mental health charity Mind in Hertfordshire, offering a range of personal development courses, including mindfulness, anxiety, depression and anger management. More recently, M has started to train staff from various organisation to understand mental health.
